Arch Hanley started Acme Electric in 1945 performing radio and appliance service.

In 1952, seeing that television was the future of home electronics, Acme Electric became Acme TV. The price of a television in 1952 was almost 1/2 the price of the average car!

In order to make televisions accessible to everyone, Arch started our very unique Acme Purchase Program which continues to this day.

Joined by his son in the 1970s, two generations of Hanleys began to grow the same business.  With the introduction of microcomputers in 1978, Acme TV became Spokane's first computer store.
